Review: Eats | 10.18.16

Eats
600 Ponce De Leon Ave
Atlanta, GA 30308
Website: http://www.eatsonponce.net/

Date of Visit: 10.18.16 @ 8PM

From their website: Eats restaurant is an authentic Atlanta mainstay serving up an eclectic variety of healthy foods guaranteed to satisfy even the pickiest eater. Eats offers affordable healthy fast food with delicious home-style staples including jerk and BBQ chicken, fettucini alfredo and fresh vegetarian vegetables.

Named "Best Cheap Eats" by Creative Loafing ten times since its inception in 1993 by owners Robert Hatcher and Charles Kerns, Eats has grown into a local favorite known for its big portions at affordable prices, friendly staff and casual atmosphere. Eats is the sister restaurant of the infamous Tortillas (RIP) and nearby local watering hole, The Local (located two blocks east on Ponce).

This is a sweet, secret treasure if you don’t know about it. It’s basically a dive located across from the Ponce Market and adjacent to a shopping center.

This dive is well run, but don’t expect table clothes, candles and waiter service.

You basically order from the friendly staff ready to take your order.  Everything is made fresh that day, and sometimes, if they run out of something – that’s it, folks…you’ll need to order something else.

On my visit, I had: Turkey Meatloaf, Mac & Cheese, Collared Greens, Corn Bread,
Broccoli Casserole and a drink – ‘ginormous’ portions for less than $12…well worth it.

The Turkey Meatloaf is to DIE for and I highly recommend it if that floats your boat.

The Final Review:

**** (more for the food)

Would I go back? Yes! (Most likely once more before I leave Atlanta!)
